Procedure to review articles submitted to the editoral board of the peer-reviewed journal “Hirurgia Pozvonocnika”

  1. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are sent to reviewers specializing in appropriate scientific area (Doctor of Sciences at least) for expert examination. All reviewers are acknowledged subject experts and have published studies in the field relevant to the peer-reviewed article over the last 3 years. Reviewers can not be affiliated with the institution with which the author is affiliated.
  2. Reviewers are notified that manuscripts sent to them are the private property of the authors and qualified as confidential information.
  3. Reviewing is based on the double blind-peer review principle (i.e. the name of the author is not revealed to the reviewers nor are the reviewers’ names revealed to the author).
  4. Reviewers indicate, within one month, whether the article, on the reviewer's opinion, should be published in the journal "Hirurgia Pozvonocnika".
  5. The review is sent (by e-mail) to the author of the article under review for reference, and the information on the reviewers is also confidential.
  6. The article is considered to be accepted for publication if a positive review is available.
  7. All articles undergo further discussion at the editorial board meeting to which the received reviews are submitted
  8. In case the article is rejected from publication in the journal, it is sent to the author with an argued write rejection.
  9. Authors have a right to revise the article in accordance with recommendations of the reviewers.
  10. All reviews are stored in the editorial office for five years.
  11. Editorial board send copies of reviews to the RF Ministry of Education and Science, upon the received appropriate request.
